The friend, who asked not to be identified because the family had not yet announced the baby's birth, told The Associated Press that the baby was named Maddie Briann and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears is back in Los Angeles, and it didn't take long for trouble to find her.
Within moments of arriving at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday evening, Spears' entourage was involved in a scuffle with a paparazzo.
Between 30 and 35 photographers swarmed her vehicle outside the terminal before a bodyguard pushed a camera into a photographer's face, airport police Sgt. Jim Holcomb said.

Paris Hilton has criticised the media for printing "lies" about her relationship with Nicole Richie - insisting recent reports about a feud between the pair are "completely false".
Hilton was rumoured to have fallen out with her socialite pal after moving house to be closer to her boyfriend Benji Madden.
But the hotel heiress insists that although she has left her previous home, she is still living in the same Beverly Hills neighbourhood.
Hilton also denies that Richie - who is dating Madden's twin brother Joel - has opposed the move.
And the star singles out U.S. newspaper the New York Post's PageSix gossip column for particular criticism.

Reports say that Christian Bale’s mother and sister filed assault complaints in regards to an altercation that took place at a west London hotel on Sunday. The allegation of his verbally lashing out at his mother, Jenny Bale and his sister, Sharon Bale, was made at a police station in South England on Monday. The incident was passed on to the famous Scotland Yard for processing.

(July 27) - 'Transformers' and 'Indiana Jones' star has been busted on suspicion of DUI, following a car crash early Sunday morning in Los Angeles.
TMZ.com reports that LaBeouf's vehicle collided with another car. TMZ was told that LaBeouf showed signs of intoxication at the scene.
A law inforcement official told TMZ that LaBeouf would be booked under suspicion of a misdemeanor or felony DUI depending on the level of injuries suffered by the other driver.

Duff's Dad Walks Away from Jail After One Day
Hilary Duff's father has been released from prison just a day after he was jailed over a bitter court battle with his estranged wife over their famous daughter's 21st birthday party.
Bob Duff was released from a Texas jail on Thursday after being ordered to spend up to 10 days in there for contempt of court and pay $12,500 to his ex-wife for the star's 21st birthday party and a present.
Susan and Bob Duff are currently in the middle of a two-and-a-half-year divorce battle.
Duff was also ordered to pay the $367,537 he earned from selling stocks last month into a court repository.
