CBS News Early Show, October 21, 2009, reported on a type of cell/mobile phone stealing/hacking that may effect Y-O-U. In fact Paris Hilton had her phone cancelled because of the problem with Spoofcard.com.

Paris Hilton calling card account cancelled
Paris Hilton was among customers who had their calling card accounts cancelled after it was discovered that a number of celebrity voicemail accounts had been broken into, including that of singer and actress Lindsay Lohan.
SpoofCard.com, which provides calling cards with which the caller can specify any outgoing caller ID number, stated that it has cancelled 50 accounts that were using the service to break into voicemail accounts.

The company confirmed that Hilton was one of the customers whose account was cancelled, and that Lohan was one of the celebrities whose voicemail was broken into.
Some mobile networks use caller ID to identify the caller and remove the need for further security to access voicemail.
However, if the caller uses SpoofCard all they need to know is the victim's phone number to gain full access to their voicemail.

Researchers can attack mobile phones via spoofed SMS messages
LAS VEGAS--Researchers at the Black Hat security conference on Thursday showed how an attacker could spoof a type of SMS message that appears to be sent from the carrier or some other trusted source.
This attack on MMS (multimedia messaging service) messages, a type of SMS message, could allow an attacker to trick the recipient into visiting a malicious Web site or ultimately do something else to harm the phone or steal data.
The attacks work potentially on any type of phone that is MMS-enabled and operating on Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) networks, said Zane Lackey, a senior consultant at ISEC Partners, and independent researcher Luis Miras.

Yes it is true Paris Hilton is already rich and doesn't need your hard earned money but I must admit her Wrist Watch collection is very nice. You might see a watch you'd like to give as a last minute Christmas gift.

Paris Hilton Featured on CBS’s ‘I Get That A Lot’
On the show, celebrities assume everyday working class jobs, while hidden cameras capture the whole experience. When they are asked about their real identities, the celebrities deny everything and say ‘I get that a lot.’ At the end of the segment their real identity is revealed. Insert laughter here.
So far the show has featured Heidi Klum, Ice-T, Jeff Probst, LeAnn Rimes, Mario Lopez and Jared Fogle working everywhere from a pizza parlor to a computer shop.

Tequila is not that famous. She was just in the news because of the trouble for about 2 weeks.

The real reason I am positing this update is because Paris has managed to get her latest TV commercial pulled off the air... The German Beer company, Devassa ran a commercial in Brazil and very strangely it was considered "too sexy"--Come on this is Brazil land of Carnival which frequently features ordinary people showing a lot more skin in the Annual Carnival Parade.

Paris Hilton marijuana charges dropped in SAfrica
ORT ELIZABETH, South Africa – A court in South Africa has dropped the marijuana-smoking case against Paris Hilton.
The socialite appeared late Friday in a FIFA World Cup courtroom after being arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana at a quarterfinal between Brazil and the Netherlands.
"Paris Hilton was questioned today by police in South Africa on allegations of smoking marijuana," a publicist for Hilton, Dawn Miller, said in a statement.
"However I can confirm that the incident was a complete misunderstanding and it was actually another person in the group who did it," the statement said. "The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made."
When told the case had been dropped, Hilton said "thank you" and left the courtroom.

Lindsay Lohan 'cooperative and compliant' in jail

It may not be the Chateau Marmont, but Lindsay Lohan is coping well after 24 hours inside the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, a sheriff's spokesman said Wednesday.
Lohan surrendered Tuesday at the Beverly Hills courthouse to begin a 90-day jail sentence for violating probation on a previous drunk-driving conviction.
"She was cooperative, compliant and a mature person facing the realities of incarceration," L.A. County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said Wednesday.
