It's a shame that good entries such as the ones from Belgium, Monaco, Estonia, Albania and The Netherlands didn't make it to the final.
Belgium was a huge favorite!! I don't really understand what happened: All right, the girl went a little out of key at times but her performance just rocked!!
Oh, yes, Iceland... she knew she wasn't that welcomed that she and some of her people made up this little fight with this journalist just to make herself present. She had this need to steal the spotlight one way or another.
Audience's booing was all the plaudit she got at the beginning and at the end of her performance, as well as when the hosts announced her as one of the qualified entries for the final. Maria noticed this immediately and just commented, "Hmmm... strong reactions...". |

My opinion why Kate didn't go to the final as well as the girl who sang about crying angels and others is that they sang with no emotions, with no real feeling, not believing in what they sang. And Silvia Night simply overdosed with everything.
and to thepublicone > I thought the ones you mentioned were the poorest of all. They were all the SAME! Girls trying to show as much body as possible. BLAH.

Well, I always thought "Je T'adore" sounded very Eurovision but I guess you're right: Her performance wasn't that thrilling but I've liked the song from day 1. |

but elena's performence certainly rocked the stage. I guess good looks and excellent singing does come from the family.... except for XXL who performed in 2000... but that's another story I don't wanna get into

I hope that Sweden will win the contest but, actually it's not a big chance. Carola may have the best voice but her song is TERRIBLE.
I think Russia will at least be in the top five and that Malta is among them too. ;-) Russias singer is SO good. Like his voice a lot. ;-) |

Nonono, you missunderstood me. I DO think Carola's voice is good, that her voice is nice listening to. But the song is just one in the crowd. It does not stand out and it doesn't have a real message.
And well, I can't say that I've listend to all of the songs so many times that I have one that I adore. Just think Russia's and Malta's songs is the most.. Is the best. You get this exiting feeling when you hear them. :-) |

Well, guess what: The winning entry of 2006's Eurovision Song Contest is... FINLAND!!!
I really put my last minutes of hope in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
I also thought USA was the only all about rock and it seems like Europe's been taken over by this phenomenum as well.
My personal opinion? Everyone was simply impressed by their presence on the stage and because they kept them awake all through the song but it was never one of my favorite songs to win.
Besides, I still hold this thought: I liked last year's contest WAY MUCH BETTER than this year's.
I'm just not too content with the final result. |

all that matters is that everyone did their very best. So congratulations to Finland... see you guys next year! I hope elena won't chuck a fit for only having 56 points.... ah well knowing family.... she'd probably get the shits.... but hey Macedonia was really good for an ACTUAL first time.... and I aint saying that cause me and her are 2nd cousins.... I'm being honest..... song was goood and performence was great at the semi and at the finals.... but above all people great performence from every single country from the semi and grand finals

Did you also notice today's performances were exactly like Thursday's? I really started thinking those were videos but then some of them changed my mind, such as Armenia, Turkey and Sweden. They even said something different from what they said on Thursday or lyrics were changed, like Carola's ones. |
