Classical Music is not sad. I hear it too and I think is the most beautiful music in the world. It's magic, It's for reflection.

I like the music of Star Wars, Titanic, The Lord of the Ring.

Classical music is not sad at all. Classical music is awesome! It's some of the best, most beautiful music ever written. There is absolutely nothing wrong with liking it.

I think you should let these kids at school know that most of their favorite movies have classical music in them: Star Wars, Superman, The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. And that they are also probably more familiar with classical music than they think: Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee," Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik," Wagner's "Ride of the Valkries," Orff's "O, Fortuna (from Carmina Burana)," just to name a few.

And if they still refuse to like it, they're the ones missing out. :)

I just think it's annoying. I've heard millions of classical pieces since I was BORN and I just can't take that music anymore... it's ALL my dad listens to, that's why I can't stand it... besides the fact that he's a music teacher.

I don't find it sad but it sort of makes me feel a little stressed. It's supposed to make the listener relaxed but some pieces have actually made me feel comfortable. I'd rather listen to it while practicing playing some of my instruments. It's good for your ears anyway.

I love classical music. My boyfriend plays the piano and he got me into it. I have some on my iPod and no one gives me a hard time about it they think it's cool...it's music. Different people like different things. Whatever you like is what you should listen to.

I don't mind classical music being played on the piano, because I have a friend who kicks ass at playing the piano... she's REALLY REALLY good. The only song I can't stand being played EVER anymore is Fir Elise. UGH! My brother from another mother ruined that song for me, he played it EVERYDAY after school my freshman year.

Ohhhh yes! That song is DEFINATELY over-played wayyy too much! I think it's mandatory at a certain level in piano that you must know how to play that song...which sucks ;)

I had to learn that song too :p
I quite like it, in fact, but I don't play it much anymore.
Classical music is the best. Mostly I play Bach and Beethoven, but others as well. Try listening to Vivaldi's "the four seasons", it's absolutely brilliant.

those people are just dumb human beings.

well, in classical music, most of the music is played in a minor key, whcih given the sound, played lower on the keyboard gives it a sad sound.....I love classical ,and opera now, bcuz it gives me a better understanding of music.....and i now have a better apprecaition of my own music now...

It depends on the song...Classcial music is no different from any other kind, some of the pieces were composed because the composer was sad or angry. Other pieces were composed for the opposite reason and of course the person listening to it has their own opinion of what the song means.

Personally, I like to listen to some specific songs when I am sad and there are some songs like, The Afternoon of the Fawn, Claude Debussey, which have a sad or peaceful quality.
