they should never have made those 2 september 11 movies "United 93" and "World Trade Center"... it's just been a few years since the attacks... and a lot of people are still recovering or have already moved on... but this movie will open up all wounds of what happened... I'm just really disghusted that they did this too soon... my cousin died in the north tower when the plane hit.. he was on the 74th floor I believe... because thats where he worked... and he was never seen again... and I'm just really disghusted that HOLLYWOOD or whoever has decided to make 2 films about the attacks... its so soon... let us move on and recover first... don't open up all wounds... sorry just felt like telling someone
and well I really haven't told anyone this but might as well... back in 1997 my family and I moved to Manhatten cause of my dad's business but we moved back here in 2004 anyways I was about 11 in 2001 anyways it was a usual wednesday and I skipped school that day with my friend elizabeth... anyways we were going to go to the North Tower and surprise my cousin for his 21st birthday... anyways we were 2 minutes away by walk from the north tower... anyways I heard a rumbling and screeching type of sound and we both looked up to see the plane hit the north tower... everything was happening too fast... a few people around us looked up and gasped or shrieked... my cousin was on that tower... all I remember seeing (before alot of the people and us ran away from the north tower incase we did get hit by debris) was smoke and flames coming out from the side and glass and paper flying out... I was screaming because I knew my cousin was on that tower... all I wanted to do was just run inside and find him but elizabeth was holding me back... anyways that's all I'm going to write about because I don't want to go back to what happened afterwards... it just was like one big nightmare... everything happened so slow and fast at the same time... but yeah that's all I'm going to talk about... I just hate those bastards that did this to everyone... so many families and lives were torn apart just so those dickheads can be satisfied... hope they all burn in hell for what they did to us...
anyways sorry felt like getting out my system... |

Awww, Im very sorry for your loss, thats horrible! I lost my uncle also in the north tower, he was on the 71 floor. He was a great person, its so terrible both your cousin and my uncle were taken away in an act of selfishness by Osama Bin Laden.
Although I DID see "United 93" and it does not glorify what happened, its more of a tribute to those who fought and rebelled against the hijackers. However the "world trade center" movie I havnt seen. Again im very sorry for your loss :( |

I know Hollywood wants to make it a tribute and all but those images bring people to tears, like the trailer for The World Trade Center.
I'm truly sorry for both of your losses. I wish none of this would have happened. |

And the world trade center is mostly about the people who helped the people, not the ones who were in the plain... at least that's what i saw in the preview.... |

well.. movies / tv shows are also for educational purposes.. kinda like documentary. Think of it this way.. why does National Geographic telecast a remake of the American Civil War ? And the History channel's remake of Bombing of Pearl harbor ? it is to educate people about history. Or the Passion of Christ movie as well. |

Good point, there. Although the last movie you mentioned is actually not a history documentary, but rather the [Edit: Decided that I didn't feel like starting a fight. Besides, I think if I didn't delete what I had said, I'd be sentenced to Hell for another thousand years.]. But I get what you mean. |

I mean there ARE movies that I think should be made and some that shouldnt. United 93 I think should have been made because of a tribute to all those people who died. A movie I hope no one EVER see's is "Karla" its about the famous canadian serial killer, its just glorifying her horrible crimes she commited, its not a tribute in ANY way! |

Shoulda just went ahead and said it: The Passion of the Christ was a movie about Jesus' crucifixion directed by an actor. I've watched it in my Bible History class because we had to. (I fell asleep. What does that tell ya?) And NG's remake of the Civil War and the HC's remake of the Pearl Harbor bombings are basically to do what you said: educate. Teach people what happened. What could happen. (Well, that's the case with the Civil War and the Pearl Harbor.)
But about the 9/11 movies: I've seen something about it on Entertainment Tonight; I've already seen a trailer on the tube. All I'm wondering is what the survivors think about this. What the widowers think. What the widows think.
Anyone tries to tell me off about the PoC, talk to me in messenger, 'cause I'll be on for awhile unless they log me off for being offline for more than ten minutes. |

Wow i haven't watched Passion of the Christ in ages i just haven't bother getting it cuz its too sad for me and i usually don't cry when it comes to sad movies.. You heard of Two Brothers thats based on a true story and it tells a message at the end saying that they were 10,000 or more tigers in the jungle and now theres less then well 3,000 or even less then that and 3 Tigers are already extinct
and don't forget Balto thats was based on a true story too about a Half Dog and half Wolf that saved 1000s of lives from dying |

Well that's what I thought. I meant they showed footage of the building being crashed into, and those footages are still pretty deep inside people's minds. |

Actually, what I said had the potential to be a lot more offensive. I said that the story of "The Passion" was actually the film version of a famous fairy tale, and not a historical documentary. There, I said it. |

Those who can't bear watching it just yet, simply shouldn't watch it. It's not such a hard thing to do
Oh and, wasn't the first film about Titanic made in 1915, only 3 years after its sinking in 1912?? ;p
btw, 9/11/2001 was a Tuesday for sure, I just happen to remember it cos I was on a field trip with school all day, and in Flanders school ends already at 12pm on Wednesdays :p |

I find it a big difference between the sinking of The Titanic and the atacks on 9/11.
Ships sinking happen a lot, but atacks like on 9/11 not.
9/11 is a subject that just isnt good for hollywood movies the pain of 9/11 wil never go away, and it is`nt that simple as "then you dont watch it"
people of all ages all around the world seen it happen live it was the begin of a new world a new time.
And a ship sink like the Titanic wouldnt be that famous whitout the movie but 9/11 is different. |

I was just making the comparison because Jordan is quite a Titanic fan.
No, personally I think that's a load of bollocks. The film makers didn't mean any harm with it. If they'd make a parody on it, I understand that could be disgusting, but they're just trying to make it look as real as possible so how is that offensive? And yeah, if it still does, don't watch it. Simply don't buy the movie ticket or skip to another channel when they're showing the advert. Besides, it's not just the movie that reminds people of 9/11 again, how often do we come across a an article in a magazine or on the internet or a documentary about it? Should ban them too in that case..
Otherwise I don't think watching that film is half as emotional as visiting Ground Zero in New York. I myself visited Pearl Harbor last year and was a lot more touched when I actually was there rather than when I watched films and documentaries of it. |

Oh, about 9/11...
It was on a Tuesday. I checked my phone's calendar. And I remember a fifth grade teacher telling my fourth grade teacher to turn on her TV to a specific channel, and we watched it, and I said, "Wow cool", because I thought it was some type of educational movie. (I was only in the 4th grade. Come on.) And my friend and I were actually talking about this the other night. She said that she was at the vet that day, and everyone was watching the TV. |

I never saw those movies and I never plan to because I also lost someone in 9/11. I wouldnt be able to sit through it because all I would be able to think about is how he's not here anymore and he was never found. |
