Rubber Lab Technician (2nd shift)

CoWorx Staffing Services is hiring a 2nd shift Lab Technician for Vibram.

Located in North Brookfield, Vibram creates high-quality rubber outsoles for various types of footwear.

The Lab Technician will perform various duties to operate a variety of testing and processing equipment in the lab to prepare and test in-process, finished production, development materials and incoming raw materials, document findings, by following standard established procedures and methods.

Responsibilities:

Prepare samples or soles from biscuits by weight for testing.
Record cure rate, Mooney viscosities, densities, and gauges.
Pick up soles or sheets from production and check density following standard procedures.
Notify supervisor or chemist of any deviations or findings.
Visually inspect slabs for color and imperfections against standards.
Set up charts and gates in rheometer, tensile, Mooney software, and other equipment.
Establish and/or maintain quality standards and monitor production/development operations.
Record all required data and file information neatly and orderly.
Complete all forms, charts, reports, and records as directed and/or required.
Work from specification sheets and other written or verbal instructions.
Remain flexible and adaptable as priorities change.
Maintain all laboratory equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow all safety rules, regulations, and practices.
Use all necessary safety equipment and devices.
Pick up samples from the shop floor and inspect for quality.
Maintain an up-to-date lab notebook.
Gather samples and test results; enter results into spreadsheets.

Desired Background/Skills:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
6-9 months of experience
Basic math skills
Good oral and written communication
Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of the job

Other Information:

Shift: 2pm -10pm Monday-Friday, unpaid 1/2 meal break
Temp to hire
Paid holidays offered by Vibram after 30 days worked
